Learning and serving together in the light of God's love
We are proud to work with all the Catholic schools across our two local authority areas, particularly as the Trust grows and benefits from the expertise and knowledge that other schools joining in the future will bring.
Visit UsCollective Worship at St Joseph's takes place every day and can take many forms; whole school assemblies, class prayers or class collective worship. Friends, families and parishioners are welcome to join us for our special services.
Each day begins and ends in prayer. Some of the prayers we say are listed below.
We gather every week for assembly and collective worship and to share the Gospel from Mass. Key Stage 2 do this on Monday and EYFS/Key Stage 1 on Friday
Significant feast days are celebrated throughout the Liturgical year with whole school Mass is celebrated at church to mark the beginning and end of the school year as well as during Lent and Advent.
The school has an active prayer life. During October, the month of the Holy Rosary, and during the Month of May, we invite children to gather on the playgrounds at breaktime to pray the Rosary. During Lent and Advent daily prayers are led by teachers and pupils in school.
Families are encouraged to worship together at home. Father John visits school regularly to visit the children and support the catechesis in the classrooms; and the opportunity for confession is offered in school every term for all eligible staff and children.
Catholic Life & Mission and Collective Worship Lead is Mrs K Kitterick.
Oh my God I give to you
All that I think I say to You
All my work and all my play
I will give to you God today
Amen.
Bless us O God as we sit together,
Bless the food we eat today,
Bless the hands that make the food,
Bless us O God.
Amen.
Be present at our table, Lord,
Be here and everywhere adored,
Our children bless and grant that we;
may feast in paradise with thee.
Amen
God our Father I come to say,
Thank you for your love today,
Thank you for my family
And all the friends you give to me,
Guard me in the dark of night,
And in the morning send your light.
Amen.
