Visit UsThe Foundation Academy Councillors will be those appointed by the Bishop. Parents, including carers, of registered pupils at the school are eligible to stand for election for Parent Governorship at the school. Staff Councillors are elected by the school staff and must be paid employees of the school.
The Foundation Councillors shall be appointed by the Bishop. They shall outnumber all other Academy Councillors by two so as to ensure the preservation and development of the Catholic character of the academy and the Multi-Academy Trust Company.
Unless the Headteacher resigns from the Academy Council, he/she shall be treated for all purposes as being an ex officio member of the Academy Council.
The Academy Council shall invite nominations from all staff who are employed by the Multi-Academy Trust Company and who work at the academy and, where there are any contested posts, shall hold an election by a secret ballot.
The parent members of the Academy Council shall be appointed after election by parents of registered pupils at the academy and he or she must be a parent or carer of a pupil at the academy at the time when he or she is elected.
Any election of persons who are to be the parent members of the Academy Council which is contested shall be held by secret ballot.
The term of office for any person serving on the Academy Council shall be 4 years, this does not apply to the Headteacher. Foundation Councillors may only serve a maximum of three consecutive four-year terms (other than with the consent of the Bishop).
